More provinces in China are fighting COVID-19 at present than at any time since the infection first emerged in Wuhan in 2019. 

The Delta variant is spreading across the country in spite of aggressive measures in place. Local infections have been reported in 19 of 31 provinces in the country. China logged 93 new local infections on Wednesday, besides 11 asymptomatic infections. Infections were reported from three more provinces, including central Chongqing and Henan, and Jiangsu on the east coast.

Beijing logged nine cases on Wednesday, including one that was earlier reported as an asymptomatic infection. The total case count in the capital in the present wave climbed to 38, the highest since an outbreak in last January and February… (NDTV – Bloomberg News, November 3, 2021)
